The Tel Aviv University and Shenkar Entrepreneurship Center was established with the aim of equipping students with the necessary tools for success – the entrepreneurial mindset and tool-kit required to succussed in both their personal life and professional career. To this end, the Center developed a comprehensive entrepreneurship study program offered to students in all faculties. The program is integrated as part of the degree study programs and enables the study of the specific applications of entrepreneurship in the various disciplines. Soft skills such as active learning, critical thinking, creativity, innovation, and taking initiative, are the key to success in the future work environment. The Centre’s extra-curricular experiential entrepreneurship program offers students a rich variety of lectures, workshops and entrepreneurial activities such as the Hackathons and Accelerator that enable hands-on experience, working with industry and a safe place to learn from failures and successes. The Entrepreneurship Center is a university unit operating under the President of the University. ACT Shenkar is putting the creative sector at the center of Israel’s entrepreneurship and economic discourse, and connecting academia and government to the leading creative economy centers in the world. ACT Shenkar took on itself to build new design capacities in the innovation ecosystem, aligned with the global trends in which design and creativity are emerging as the dominant engines of innovation in the world’s most successful enterprises. ACT Shenkar is operating across academic, business, government and international spheres. The steps being taken to achieve these goals include: venture design accelerator, conferences and round tables, writing position papers, leading policy reform, representation in governmental committees, coordinating international EU funded programs in the field.
