Tel-Hai Academic College – Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center
The Tel Hai Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center was established in 2014 with the aim of encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship among students, graduates and faculty members. three years ago, the Entrepreneurship Center joined the University of Haifa and ORT Braude College to establish a Northern Association for Innovation and Entrepreneurship as part of the Innovation Program of the Council for Higher Education.
Tel Hai Academic College is a significant factor in regional development and economic growth in the Galilee and the Eastern Galilee. The goal of promoting a regional entrepreneurial ecosystem is to contribute to regional economic growth, to create additional and quality employment opportunities and to provide students and graduates tools of innovation and creativity that are highly relevant in the current employment era.
The center operates a number of programs, including:
- Preliminary development plan for technological, innovative ventures with business programming. The projects receive seed money, professional guidance and mentorship.
- Academic courses to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation operate within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Faculty of Sciences. The number of students who choose these courses is growing every year.
- A curriculum that combines academic and non-academic courses, in which students develop an idea for an enterprise, receive applied tools from the field of entrepreneurship and receive academic and business guidance from mentors who come from industry.
- Events, conferences, competitions, hackathons, a line of enrichment lectures and meet-ups. Most of the events take place through the implementation of a multidisciplinary approach and in some cases in collaboration with other institutions in Israel and around the world.
The Entrepreneurship Center maintains professional and academic relationships with industry, business entities, public bodies and other academic institutions in Israel and around the world, is a partner in the Entrepreneurship Development Program with the European Union and a partner in regional strategic moves shaping the Eastern Galilee innovation vision.
Three active workspaces are available to the active entrepreneurs . A workspace for Innovation in Education on the Ohalo campus in Katzrin, an innovation space in the city of Kiryat Shmona located within Margalit Startup City Galilee and another space is in the process of being established on the eastern campus of the Tel Hai Academic College in the Upper Galilee.
